The recreational sector is of great economic importance and also has a significant impact on the quality of the residential environment. At the same time, the sector urgently needs to be reinvigorated in order to meet the growing and, above all, changing demand for recreation in a sustainable manner.
The ultimate aim is to develop and realize ground-breaking innovations. In the current situation, there is no innovation infrastructure whatsoever. For this reason, the activities are initially aimed primarily at the development of a Recreation and Space Innovation Programme that is driven by entrepreneurs from the recreation sector. This programme centres on recreation that stimulates the quality of the surroundings – this in contrast with the current situation where recreation mainly consumes the quality of the surroundings.
